INSPIRATION #9 - A 5 week honeymoon with their child
DURATION: 35 days
GENERAL INFO: Family of three: 5, 31 and 47 years old
TRAVEL PROFILE: After many years of focusing on work and raising their child, it's now time for a honeymoon - now evolved into a trip around the world. Due to significant time spent in Asia for work, there is an affinity towards these countries. However, there is no opposition to being surprised by new areas that would go well with this affinity. All three family members thoroughly enjoy cooking and eating which is why this itinerary should allow for exploration not only through sight, but through the tastes that each culture has to offer with their local cuisine. All activities should be done together, so plans are to be adult and child-friendly alike. Their daughter loves musicals, music and shows. All three will be sharing a room, so accommodations should be child-friendly, yet upscale.
ITINERARY:
Element 1 (8 days: Oman)
Days 1-8: This journey begins in the magical capitol city of Oman in the city of Muscat. A local guide enchants his guests by presenting and explaining the highlights of this metropolitan city. Set sail on a Dhow, a traditional sailing vessel, for a scheduled snorkeling excursion where—if you're lucky—dolphins can be seen. A private guide will then lead a 3 day desert tour into the Wahiba Sands Desert to an exclusive Desert Camp that is waiting to welcome their guests. Discover the small fishermen villages along the east coast, as well as the highland villages, on the way to Jebal Akhdar. Up next on the itinerary is an enchanting stay at the most stunning hotel of the middle east: Alila Jabal Akhdar, with its breathtaking view of 'Oman's Grand Canyon,' a massive gorge in which the hotel seems to float above. Hike with a local who will lead you through the old villages and ruins of Ghul and finish up at a spa (with child care) to revel in the fantastic impressions Oman has to offer.
Element 2 (4 days: Thailand, Bangkok)
Days 8-11: This Thai metropolis expedition starts out in a 5-star hotel along the river. A 5 hour private tour provides a spectacular way to let Bangkok make some great first impressions. After a traditional and colorful musical show for children and adults, the next day is filled with a trip to the Ancient Ruins of Ayutthaya and the Bang Pa In Royal Palace.
Element 3 (6 days: Cambodia, Siem Reap & Phnom Penh)
Days 11-18: After enough time spent in the city, parents and child enjoy a fantastic hotel conveniently located at the gates of Siem Reap. Private day trips (some with a Jeep) to the Angkor Wat Temple and a cooking class—including a trip to the market—are catered towards the youngest member traveling. In Phnom Penh an exciting auto Rickshaw (Tuk Tuk) ride is fun for both parents and child.
Element 4 (5 days: Mekong river cruise)
Days 18-22: Aqua Expeditions offer exclusive and luxurious river cruises from Phnom Penh to Mỹ Tho. Gliding along the calm Mekong River, passing by the traditional villages, stops can be made along the riverbanks to experience the exotic life and rituals of daily life on two wheels with complimentary bikes (including child's seat) provided by Aqua Expressions.
Element 6 (4 days: Vietnam, Saigon/Ho Chi Minh City)
Days 22-26: Stay in this 5-star hotel with a three-bed suite offering an incredible view of the city. A private tour guide provides a closer understanding of the highlights of this city. A street food tour the following afternoon is followed by a cooking course along with a stop at the local market where mouthwatering experiences create unforgettable memories of Vietnam. The traditional Vietnamese Water Puppet Show is an event for the entire family.
Element 7 (9 days: Bali, Ubud and Sanur)
